Ted Kord/Blue Beetle II

I went with mitten hands and a non-removable helmet because I was nearing the end of my ginormous project list and he was bigger than I meant him to be anyway. Outline aside, his goggles are yellow felt with eyes painted on. I'm happier with his nose than England and America's, probably because it's just a barely-there nub I crocheted directly on his face rather than a visible lump of two-strand crochet I had to sew on.
Also, his costume sooooo looks like Megaman's without the beetle legs and stuff. I mean, wow. For a few minutes, I was tempted to give him a cannon on one side instead of a glove.
After finishing Ted here, I ended up taking a month-long break from crocheting; between him, the APH lads, Dobby, and the four Squiddles I'd made for various charity projects, my wrists hurt like the dickens. I've since looked up some wrist-stretching exercises designed to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome (available here), picked up a couple of wrist braces, and have taken to pacing myself a bit better. Let it not be said that I haven't learned at least a little bit from my mistakes!
