Unrelated to Tiger 1.0 and Tiger 2.0 and crocheted out of embroidery floss, we have Tiny Tiger:

One of my aunts had a wedding coming up. We didn't end up going, as it was far away and in the winter/fall to boot, but Mom asked if I could make something to send her anyway. I thought a little about what I knew of my aunt's personality, and decided to make something small; I didn't think she'd want something of my typical size range, which is great for cuddling, but not necessarily if you want to keep the appearance of being a "mature adult", with the accompanying idea that stuffed toys are for children.

After I made it up, Mom also pointed out that my aunt has a postage-stamp-sized apartment (she lives in Manhattan, after all), so smaller was definitely an asset.

Tiger in profile; I'm still not entirely sure about the color I used for its eyes.

Tiger from the back; I like to be able to show off all the stripes when I can. I'm pretty sure there's at least one type of tiger out there with a stripe that goes all the way down the back in addition to the usual vertical ones.

Tiger posed with a US quarter, for size comparison. Since I made it entirely out of embroidery floss (with a bit of polyfill for filling), it turned out basically keychain-sized. Working with the floss was a pain in the butt, more from individual strands separating easily (yes, an asset in its original purpose, but annoying in crochet) than from size. Still, I might like to do a series of tiny amigurumi like this one day.

Though her wedding was in 2010, we still haven't heard if my aunt even got the tiger, let alone whether she liked it. All things considered, that may be for the best.
